ConsultationsWe prefer to consult with our clients in person. Legal advice requires having an accurate picture of the facts in a situation, which can be difficult to obtain by telephone or e-mail. We sometimes will consult by telephone in situations demonstrating great urgency. Telephone Consultations are also available for our prospective clients who live more than 100 miles from our office. There is a $50 consultation fee, payable in advance. VISA and MasterCard are accepted. In California, a mere consultation does not ordinarily establish an attorney/client relationship. Therefore, if you desire confidentiality, such as is provided by the Attorney/Client privilege, you must create an agreement that establishes an expectation of confidentiality. Please make a list of those issues that you wish to discuss during your consultation. Be sure to bring all necessary paperwork, court papers, and physical evidence. Your consultation is designed to establish rapport, identify legal issues to be addressed, and determine probable work that needs to be done. If you choose to hire the firm, then a retainer will be offered, and fee agreement will be entered.
