Discovery and InvestigationSometimes a marriage breaks up after one spouse or the other has hidden money, property, or other assets. Since California law provides for equal division of community property, it can become necessary to track down and document these assets. Civil Discovery can be performed, using a combination of subpoenas, demands for production of documents, interrogatories, or depositions. It is necessary to gather and organize documents that you already possess, to determine what marital property issues exist. You may wish to do this before your initial consultation.
